Veterans Day Parade Disrupted as Police Arrest Teen for Smoking Joint

The opening line in the article published at the "Stamford Advocate" states: "Marring an otherwise perfect Veteran’s Day parade in Stamford, a city teenager was caught toking on a marijuana joint along the parade route Monday morning." as the article goes on to paint the 17 year old out to be a criminal leaving many to question who exactly, if not the community is the Stamford Advocate actually advocating for?

A Connecticut police officer noticed a teen standing on the corner minding his own business just before the annual Veterans Day parade in Stamford was about to kick off. The officer approached the teen and asked him if he had any marijuana on him. Because of the man's honesty with the officer he was arrested and charged with possession.

After the teen allegedly consented to a search of his personal items, police confiscated just over an ounce of cannabis and the $677 from his backpack. He was charged with possession of less than four ounces of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia and was released to the custody of his parents.

The boy is just 1 month away from his 18th birthday.
