Trio taken captive by officials in Louisiana

A "routine" traffic stop in Plattenville, LA early Friday morning led to the harassment and detainment of 3 young residents. The driver of the vehicle Ijah Baptiste, 26, and his 2 passengers Treandre Lavante Theriot, 24, and Skyla Shelby, 19 were taken captive on the side of the road instead of simply being issued a citation for a minor moving violation.

It is reported that police searched the driver although it is unclear why. Once police found cannabis on Baptiste's person they proceeded to loot the vehicle they had forced him out of. inside they found. All 3 victims are being held captive at the Assumption Parish Detention Center. The state has agreed to hold a ransom hearing for the three but refuses to release them until that time.

*Skyla Shelby • Possession of Marijuana • Possession of MDMA • Possession of Cocaine • Illegal Carrying of Weapons in the Presence of Controlled Dangerous Substances

*Treandre Lavante Theriot • Possession of Marijuana • Illegal Carrying of Weapons in the Presence of Controlled Dangerous Substances

*Ijah Baptiste • Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon • Illegal Carrying of Weapons in the Presence of Controlled Dangerous Substances
