An Indiana teen was arrested after another student told school officials at Calumet High School to "check the boys bathroom" claiming 3 students were vaping inside. When school officials entered the rest-room they found 3 boys using a vaping deice that they quickly tried to hid out of fear of retaliation from the school.
The boys told the teachers they were washing their hands. School officials then took the vaping device from the teen and smelled it saying it possessed a "strong odor of marijuana" and continued to search the boys property without notifying their parents first. Inside one of the boys backpacks was a red box containing a bag of dried cannabis flower.
The teen was arrested for possession of marijuana and booked into the Lake County Juvenile Center "Due to the subject having a substantial amount of marijuana, he is a danger and a disruption to the teachers and students of Calumet High," as described in police reports.
