3 Young Virginia men face up to 10 years in prison for peacefully smoking cannabis outside of a gas station in Virginia. STEVE ROBERTS JR reports from The Virginia Gazette "On Wednesday around 2 p.m., a person called James City County police to report three men were smoking marijuana near the gas pumps at the Star Express gas station at 9220 Old Stage Road in Toano, Williams said."
On November 19, a Marijuana Moment reported that Senator Adam Ebbin introduced a bill to decriminalize the possession of cannabis in Virginia. Jenn Michelle Pedini, executive director of Virginia NORML said “The new majority creates a real pathway for the passage of decriminalization in the 2020 General Assembly.” The new bill would now charge anyone possessing up to one ounce of cannabis to a maximum civil penalty of $50.
