Routine Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest

A Texas man sits behind bars today after deputies took him into custody following a routine traffic stop. Isaiah Sanchez was pulled over at the intersection of Mark Twain Ave in El Paso TX for failure to display a registration sticker

Police reports indicate that the driver gave consent for officers to search his vehicle although drivers are not required to consent to vehicle searches unless police display a warrant. Oncc consent was obtained, officers confiscated the 12.5 g of concentrates and 5 oz of dry cannabis flower.

Sanchez was charged with suspicion of possession of marijuana greater than 4 ounces, unlawful carrying of a weapon and manufacturing or delivering a controlled substance and booked into the El Paso County Detention center. His bail was set at $35,000, reports do not indicate if he was released.
