Police take senior citizen by threat of violence over weed in west virginia

Updated: Oct 15, 2020

A senior citizen and 3 other individuals were kidnapped by a group of armed assailants who forcibly entered their home on Monday night. The gang, who all fit the description of Breyona Taylor's murderers, arrived at the home in the 2400 block of Harvey Rd in Huntington and began to loot through, and eventually steal, select contents from inside.

Two individuals attempted to flee from the gang at the time of the robbery but were unsuccessful. In total, 110 pounds of Cannabis and 1,200 vials of hash were stolen from the scene. The residents, Gary McComas, 25, Brandon, McComas, 23, Blake Gundy, 25, and William Mayo, 63 were all taken to a local internment camp following the home invasion. The assailants identified themselves as members of the Huntington Police Department. In an article published by WSAZ News 3, the HPD claims they "received numerous drug complaints" about the home prompting them to walk down the block where they say they "noticed a strong odor of marijuana" promoting their decision to organize the home invasion. It is unknown if the homeowners were released on ransom or are still being held. All have been accused of crimes relating to drug trafficking although no victims were created by their actions. As published on the national NORML website, each individual faces "no less than 1 year and no more than 5 years" serving as a POW of the drug war with possible extortion fees not to exceed $15,000.
