439 cannabis plants along with 505 pounds of dried cannabis and over $11k in cash were stolen from a central Oregon farm Thursday night. On the morning of September 24th a group of armed assailants arrived at the farm located in Alfalfa just east of Bend oregon. By force and with threat of violence the gang entered the property and began to loot through the contents inside.
The owner, Joshua Mays was kidnapped and taken to a nearby internment camp. The assailants were identified as members of the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office working in collaboration with SWAT and the Central Oregon Drug Enforcement Team.
The group made a post on social media boasting of the robbery. Lt. William Bailey stated in a news release that he "would like to thank the legal marijuana businesses within Deschutes County for their collaborative efforts in combating illegal marijuana operations," indicating that perhaps local cannabis growers who are up to date with their government permission slips and extortion payments may be aiding in the violent harassment of those who are not.
