Despite attempts for over a year to keep body cam footage suppressed, police release video showing an officer murder a non-aggressive pet.
Police executed a search warrant at an incorrect residence in October 2018 to investigate complaints of a “drug ring”. What happens next is a terrifying scene that claimed the life of that family dog and left a little girl traumatized.
The Free Thought Project reports:
The family has obtained attorney Elliot Shields to find justice for the murder of their dog and trauma experienced by their daughter.
The video was only released after Shields filed an open-records lawsuit with the city.
According to an ACLU report, 62% of swat raids are drug related and come at an average cost of $1,500/hour.
According to use of force reports requested by WGRZ-TV under the Freedom of Information Law, Buffalo Police shot 92 dogs from Jan. 1, 2011 through Sept. 2014. Seventy-three of those dogs died. Nineteen survived.
