NC home looted by violent street gang

Arsenio Taft, 30 of Winterville NC had 2 small cannabis plants growing on his balcony on Sterling court. Generally, small plant farming on a city balcony is a practice that should cause no concern except when a violent street gang saw the plants from the street this week Taft found himself in a very uncomfortable situation.

The men, all wearing matching uniforms and badges forcibly entered Tafts home looting it for the 2 cannabis plants, an ounce of dried cannabis flower, his fire arms and any cash they could find at the residence. They then forced him into the back of their vehicle by threat of force and took him to the Pitt County detention center. They released him in exchange for a $25,000 ransom with the expectation he return to face criminal accusations.

The armed assailants have been identified as members of the Pitt County Sheriffs office. The department claims the men were serving civil papers to a different house when they noticed the 2 small plants.
