Massachusetts Man Hunt Over Marijuana

Police are on the hunt for a Boston man was who was stopped while driving through Southborough Mass on Sunday night for having an expired inspection sticker. He was abducted from the scene by police when they discovered a "large amount of cash and marijuana products" according to police reports. Once in custody, he paid the $5k ransom to be set free under the agreement that he would come to court on Monday but he did not show up.

This would mark the 3rd time that Police confiscated cannabis and money from Armando Ruiz who is just 26 years old. Many courts have what is called a "3 strike rule" which mandates that a person arrested for the 3rd time on the same offence is to receive the maximum penalty. Understandably, this would make anyone charged with multiple victim-less crimes a bit fearful for the outcome when they do arrive in court.

Metro Daily News Reports: "“An inventory of the vehicle contents showed a large amount of cash and marijuana products,” Paulhus said.

Police had the car towed to the police station and got a warrant for the SUV. With the help of a Massachusetts State Police drug-sniffing dog, police found “a large amount of assorted vacuum sealed bags containing marijuana, along with a cache of various marijuana oils and edibles were seized,” Paulhus said.

Officers also seized nearly $22,000 in cash from the GMC.

Police charged Ruiz with distribution of marijuana (subsequent offense). He has been convicted twice previously.

Ruiz posted $5,000 bail after his arrest and was ordered to report to Westborough District Court on Monday to be arraigned. However, Ruiz did not appear and now there is a warrant for his arrest, Paulhus said.

Anyone with information about Ruiz is asked to call Lt. Ryan Newell or Detective Keith Nichols at 508-485-2147."
