Man in Need of Medical Attention is Instead Jailed

A Raleigh County man who was driving erratically down a highway in Fayette County WV was arrested and is being held until his hearing.

Oak Hill Police stopped the vehicle after being radioed ahead about an erratic driver coming down the highway. Inside the vehicle police found marijuana,  heroin,  methamphetamines and xanax and the man appeared to be intoxicated. 41 year old William John Farmer was charged with Possession With Intent to Deliver Narcotics,  2 counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance, DUI, and other traffic offenses.

Farmer currently sits in the Fayette County correctional facility with limited medical attention for the withdraw symptoms he's likely experiencing. Reports do not indicate if the mad had a prescription for any of the substances or prescriptions for any medications that may be similar to the substances found on his person.

What led police to assume distribution is unclear as only a very small amount of each substance was confiscated.

The American Addiction Center site says that withdraw from xanax can cause '"Mood swings, nightmares, trouble concentrating, short-term memory loss, and hallucinations" but the man will still be asked to stand trial prior to getting through these symptoms which can take months depending on the amount of usage.
