Man Goes to Hospital After Eating Mushrooms - Police Arrest Supplier

A California man wasn't feeling so well in early December after eating more psilocybin mushrooms than his body could handle. While in the hospital he must have mentioned the buddy he was partaking with that evening. Doctors notified the Ventura County Interagency Pharmaceutical Crimes Unit who collaborated with police to hunt down and take the man by threat of violence for a citing a "non-fatal overdose"

VC Cstar Reports: "The unit said detectives gathered evidence and identified Andrew Cooper, 21, of Westlake Village, as the supplier of the illegal mushrooms.

Authorities said that on Dec. 31, an arrest warrant was obtained for Cooper, who was found on Jan. 2 in Thousand Oaks, arrested and booked into county jail.

Cooper bailed out of custody and his arraignment is set for Wednesday on suspicion of the felony offense of sale/transport/offer to sell a controlled substance, according to Ventura County Superior Court records."
