Man Flags Down Police for Help Gets Arrested for Weed

The New York State Police who boast on their news website "Proudly serving since 1917" arrested a man who's vehicle was disabled on the side of the road after he flagged them down for help.


The man was charged with Felony possession when officers searched his vehicle claiming they smelled a "strong odor of marijuana" and found a joint and small amount of cocaine inside the mans vehicle.


The Press release reads "On November 9th, 2019, Troopers out of SP Jamestown arrested Lawrence Meyer, 35, of Jamestown, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th Degree and Criminal Possession of Marijuana 4th Degree.

The Troopers stopped to render assistance to Meyer who pulled over on the shoulder of I-86 for an unknown reason. While speaking to Meyer, the Troopers smelled marijuana emanating from inside the vehicle. A search of Meyer and his vehicle revealed a jar containing over 2.3 ounces of marijuana, a marijuana cigarette and a bag containing cocaine. Meyer was placed under arrest, transported to SP Jamestown and processed. Meyer was then transported to the Chautauqua County Jail."
