Police officers were called to a home at the 700 block of Hoover Road in Golden Valley AZ this week on reports of "screaming & gunshots". When they arrived, deputies learned that the screaming came as a result of the owner trying to break up a dog fight. Allegations of gunshots could not be confirmed.
Police ran the record of the resident, Jill Silva and found an open warrant stemming from previous drug charges. Police then searched her home and found a substance that allegedly tested positive for heroin. She was arrested and charged with possession.
Roadside drug tests have been proven to be faulty however. Just this year a man in OK was arrested and sentenced to 15 years in prison when the powdered milk in his pocket he had just received from the local food bank tested positive for cocaine on a roadside test.
Upon secondary independent testing was done the substance was confirmed to be powdered milk and the man was released.
