Cannabis Kidnapping in Carroll County

A young man from Pennsylvania rolled through a stop sign in Carroll County, MD last week prompting officers to stop his vehicle. This should have ended in a simple moving violation citation but instead the man was forced to lay face down on the pavement as the officers looted his vehicle. Once inside the vehicle, officers took possession of the 3 ounces of cannabis and 10g of wax inside just before robbing him of the $558 dollars present in his wallet.

Brent Michael Snyder, 32 of York PA was taken forcibly into custody and was initially denied the opportunity to pay his kidnappers their ransom in order to be released. After negotiating with his captors they agreed to release him at a cost of $5,000 in addition to the $558 they had already taken from him.

Snyder is being asked to come stand in front of a judge to face the following charges:

  • two counts of possession of paraphernalia for a controlled and dangerous substance

  • one count each of possession of a controlled and dangerous substance, not marijuana (Hash oil)

  • possession of a controlled and dangerous substance of marijuana more than 10 grams

  • possession of a controlled and dangerous substance with intent to distribute
