Three separate property invasions in Humboldt county California Monday ended in the theft of 1,149 cannabis plants, 527 pounds of dried cannabis flower and 130 pounds of Cannabis trim/shake.
The three properties located in Blue Lake, McKinleyville and Eureka were entered by force by groups of armed individuals all fitting the description of Breyona Taylor's murderers. The assailants identified themselves in a press release as members of the Humboldt County Sheriff's Marijuana Enforcement Team (MET) working in collaboration with the The California Department of Fish and Wildlife and Humboldt County Code Enforcement. In the press release the MET revealed that in addition to the Cannabis plants, three parcels were taken during the property invasions because they "did not possess the required county permit and state license to cultivate cannabis commercially." No arrests were made but plenty of property was destroyed. The case was referred to the DA's office for review and one of the farmers was cited with a water diversion violation. This charge holds up to an $8,000 per day fine, per violation in California.
