60 pounds of pot plundered from Iowa couple in roadside property invasion

Christopher Ryan-Goetze, 30, and Hannah Umpstead, 24, both of Denver, Colorado were driving through Darr Iowa Wednesday afternoon on I-80 when a vehicle fitting the description of the transportation used by George Floyd's murderers began following their vehicle. Ryan-Goetze pulled his vehicle over near mile marker 231.


An armed man approached his vehicle with a dog and by threat of violence demanded that Ryan-Goetze and Umpstead step out of their vehicle. Once the pair were removed the armed assailant began looting through the vehicle with the assistance of his dog.


60 pounds of dried cannabis was stolen from the scene. Ryan-Goetze & Umpstead we both transported to a nearby internment camp known to locals as the Dawson County Jail. It is unknown if they were released on ransom or are still being held as POWs.



The assailant was identified as a member of the Iowa State Police. Ryan-Goetze and Umpstead were both charged with "possession of marijuana – more than one pound, possession with intent to distribute, and no drug tax stamp." According to an article published by the Lexington Clipper-Herald. If found guilty they face up to 5 years serving as POW's of the Drug War.
