U.S. Attorneys say a woman filed a claim to have the $200,980 returned but her claim was denied by federal agencies due to a lack of documentation. The woman has not been charged with any crimes at this time.

Back in May, the package was delivered to an invalid address. FedEx tried to contact the sender but the phone number associated was invalid.

According to reports, FedEx took the package to a facility, opened it, and found $200,980 cash in “several heat-sealed bags” containing over 6,000 $20 bills along with numerous large bills.

According to court documents filed by U.S. Attorneys in the forfeiture case, 25 FedEx shipments were made to Oregon between June 2017 and May 2019 with the same addresses.

Felice Michael Giorgetti, the recipient of the packages is serving a 37-month prison sentence for cannabis possession after he was stopped in a rental truck containing 526 pounds of cannabis in January 2018, according to court documents.

Reports indicate that the shipments from North Carolina to Oregon stopped after Giorgetti’s Jan. 10, 2018, arrest  but are still connecting the incidents.
